Job Title: Sales Executive

Department: Sales

Reports To: Sales Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Summary: Visits current or prospective customers and performs assigned outside sales responsibilities by performing the following duties.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Contacts prospective and current customers to solicit sales of company products and services.*

 

  1. Receives customer inquiries, and performs follow up procedures to include providing price quotes, new product information, and receiving feedback regarding company products and services.*

 

  1. Follows up with sales leads generated through incoming calls, advertising campaigns and other promotional efforts.*

 

  1. Travels to customer locations to present company products, services and pricing information in a professional manner.*

 

  1. Applies technical knowledge of company products and services to best meet customer needs.*

 

  1. Maintains appropriate records for the development of sales forecasts for each customer.*

 

  1. Submits appropriate paperwork to management such as expense reports and call reports in accordance with training procedures.*

 

  1. Understands and supports company sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective service to all customers, and foster the development of long term business relationships.*

 

  1. Assists and resolves customer complaints in a timely manner, notifies management of problems and suggests corrective actions.*

 

  1. Collects and reports competitive information to management.*

 

  1. Attends training activities and trade shows on behalf of company to present information regarding company products and services.*

 

  1. Maintains and updates computer invoice records for each account, and submits changes on customer cards to the office.*

 

  1. Remains available for rotating "on call" duties for weekend emergency deliveries and equipment breakdowns.*

 

  1. Provides good on-site customer service such as, following through on all aspects of service, troubleshooting and resolving problems, and remaining courteous, friendly, helpful and informative at all times.*

 

  1. Maintains regular delivery schedule on automatic and precalled customers based on their individual usage.*

 

  1. Submits appropriate data to management when sales leads or sales closings occur with follow up calls.*

 

  1. Introduces new product lines/or specials to customers and markets the company's product line as directed.*

 

  1. Installs new accounts as deemed necessary by management.*

 

  1. Tracks and submits information on promotions to increase sales as appropriate.*

 

  1. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; inventory software;.

 

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver's license
